We received our first official response to one of our letter of intents yesterday. In my opinion it was a "thanks for the interest but we don't want you here" kind of response. The offer for us to come in was available; however, it would cost us $100/hour to do so. At the same time, we would be unable to interview any staff regarding the stories that we have heard about the location. So basically we would be paying just to wander the building aimlessly for as long as we could afford. While I understand the need for someone from the location to be available with us, the price tag is way too steep in my opinion. Maybe they've been burned in the past, I can't say for sure but all I know is my fingers are crossed for the next one.
So now my question is do a lot of groups run into this kind of response while looking for potential investigation sites?
